In certain situations we may not have time to install the FTP software to manage our servers.

Is there a simple way to access FTP server? Yes just enough to use the features already available on Windows. Here is a simple way to access the FTP server:

  1. Log into "My Network Place".
  2. In the "Network Tasks" choose "Add a network place".
  3. Click "Next", then select "Choose another network location", click "Next".
  4. In the "Internet or network address" fill in your ftp address. For example the address is ftp://yourdomain.com, click "Next".
  5. Uncheck the "Log on anonymously", and fill textbox with your username. Click "Next".
  6. Name your new network place, click "Next".
  7. Click "Finish".

The steps above are the simplest way to access FTP without the need to install additional software.
